Biocide Plant

Moulson Process Plant

The methanol recovery plant described above was supplied as part of a project to extend a facility to incorporate production of a valuable intermediate for the production of of biocides. This led to Moulson’s involvement as designers and project managers for the £3.6 million 16-month project.

The project involved the refurbishment of an existing reactor and the installation of a high-speed centrifuge, a rotary dryer, a new tank farm, a new chilled water facility and an extension to the plant cooling water system.

Moulson prepared the plant P&IDs, schedules and arrangement drawings, carried out the mass balances and process calculations, and provided the design specifications for all equipment, piping, civil, electrical and control requirements. Moulson raised orders for the supply of all the equipment and services and provided support to the client in HAZOP studies, ATEX and CDM requirements, installation and commissioning.
